Activision has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Season 4 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. The season is confirmed for May 29, and the big update brings the return of Warzone’s popular Kar98k bolt-action rifle.

The brief video clip is cryptic, featuring quick flashes of clocks, timers, and keypads. These teasers might hint at the unopened bunkers in Warzone, potentially set to open in Season 4. Alternatively, they could be hinting at the upcoming Call of Duty 2024 reveal. Whether this reveal is connected to the Warzone bunkers is unclear, but in-game reveal events have been used for Call of Duty announcements in the past.
Alongside the Season 4 teaser, Activision sent packages to Call of Duty influencers containing hints that the popular Kar98k rifle is returning. It’s not confirmed whether this will be the marksman-rifle version from Modern Warfare 2019 or the sniper-rifle version from Call of Duty: Vanguard, but the teasers describe it as a bolt-action rifle, consistent with its historical use by Germany in WW2.
More information is expected in the days leading up to Season 4’s launch. Additionally, Warzone’s latest update introduced a secret “Sally” pistol weapon blueprint, which appears to be teasing Treyarch’s rumored Black Ops 6.
