Update May 3, 2023: I don’t know what took so long, but the listing for Pokemon Go Plus+ is finally live on Amazon. If that’s your retailer of choice, you can now place your preorder for this unique gaming accessory.

I don’t know about you, but I miss game accessories. I’m talking about physical items you can use to interact with video games. The Pokémon Company must have similar feelings because it has announced a brand-new gadget to help you get the most out of a pair of mobile Pokémon games. The gadget in question is the Pokémon Go Plus+ (the law requires you to say both pluses when saying it aloud). It’s an improved version of the original Pokémon Go Plus bracelet that came out a few years back. The new device is scheduled to release in July, but you can preorder it now (see it on Amazon).

Preorder Pokémon Go Plus+

Pokémon Go Plus+ works with Pokémon Go and with the upcoming game/app Pokémon Sleep. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology to sync with your phone without sacrificing battery life.

When used with Pokémon Go, the Plus+ device can spin PokéStops and throw Poké Balls automatically, including Great and Ultra Balls. It also lets you take on Special Research to catch a Snorlax wearing a nightcap, which you can see in the slideshow below.

As for Pokemon Sleep, the device does even more. If you press and hold the center button and put it by your pillow, it will do several things. It tracks your sleep, and with data, it feeds into the Pokemon Sleep app. There’s also apparently a Pikachu inside each Pokemon Go Plus+. It can sing you to sleep and act as an alarm. The little friend becomes “friendlier” the more you use it and makes more sounds over time. Says Nintendo’s marketing, “Depending on how you sleep, you can collect more Pokemon to complete the sleep Pokedex!”

As mentioned earlier, if you want one of these things, you might want to preorder it sooner than later. Pokemon Go Plus+ isn’t the only physical item Nintendo has struggled to keep in stock, even during the preorder window. Metroid Prime Remastered also sold out everywhere before it even came out, and is still next to impossible to find in stock. So if you want a Pokemon Go Plus+, lock in that preorder.
