And guess what? Baldur’s Gate 3 has emerged as the clear winner with a whopping 6 awards under their belt.

The winners of this year’s Golden Joystick Awards have been announced. The 41st annual awards ceremony was held today at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, UK. A total of 23 categories were awarded at the event.

Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 won six awards, including the Ultimate Game of the Year Award, beating 19 competitors, which included Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The highly acclaimed role-playing game has received the most accolades. 

Larian Studios’ latest game, Baldur’s Gate 3, has won several awards. The game was awarded for Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, Best Game Community, Best Supporting Performer (Neil Newbon for his role as Astarion), and PC Game of the Year. Additionally, Larian Studios itself was named Studio of the Year in recognition of its outstanding work on the game.

No Man’s Sky, the exploration and survival game developed by Hello Games, won the Still Playing award in the recent awards ceremony. The game was initially released in 2016. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, an expansion developed by CD Projekt Red, won two awards – Best Game Expansion and Best Game Trailer.

The Sea of Stars, a beautiful RPG created with pixel-art graphics by Sabotage Studios, won the award for Best Indie Game. Guerrilla Games and Firesprite’s Horizon: Call of the Mountain received the award for Best VR Game. In addition, the award for Best Gaming Hardware was presented to PlayStation’s PSVR 2.

This year, the Final Fantasy series by Square Enix won three awards. Final Fantasy 16 earned the Best Audio award, while Clive Rosfield actor Ben Starr was given the Best Lead Performer award. Additionally, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won the Most Wanted Game award.

The Best Multiplayer Game award was given to Mortal Kombat 1 by NetherRealm Studios, while the Streamers’ Choice Award went to Riot Games’ tactical first-person shooter, Valorant.

Geometric Interactive’s debut puzzle-adventure game Cocoon won the Breakthrough Award, while Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 received the Critics’ Choice Award for survival horror.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom won the award for Nintendo Game of the Year. Resident Evil 4 was awarded the PlayStation Game of the Year, while Starfield won the Xbox Game of the Year award.
